"One of the best things I did to prepare for the arrival of our second was hire Taylor! We have had heaps of sleep issues with our firstborn for various reasons (mainly moving around his first year of life). Our main issue was that our son was using me as a sleep prop, from breastfeeding to sleep to eventually rocking once he was weaned. I love the kid, but I did not love spending over an hour (sometimes more) of my day getting him to sleep. I knew that it was highly impracticable to continue this way of life when I got pregnant again. With Taylor’s help, my husband and I gained the knowledge and confidence to help William learn the skill of independently putting himself to sleep. I was a bit nervous initially, but it was a much smoother process than I was expecting for William and us! "Working with Taylor was life changing! I was very hesitant to ask for help, I was so nervous I would have to leave my baby in his room to cry and I knew I couldn’t do it. She does not want you to leave baby crying alone. By night 3 what had taken an hour each night to get to sleep took 20minutes and by week 2 he was asleep in 10 minutes. "Taylor is a Godsend! She helped my then 10 month old to stop waking 2-3 times at night to nurse. She also helped me get him on a better schedule in general with two longer naps instead of 3-4 short ones. I did not feel comfortable leaving my son to cry it out, so Taylor taught us other methods of soothing. The first week was the most difficult, but we got through it and we are a much happier family because of Taylor’s guidance and expertise. My son is sleeping 11-12 hours at night and taking 2, 1-1.5 hour naps during the day. He is happier, eating me out of house and home, but most of all, I am able to sleep at night!!! I am also able to get things accomplished after he is in bed and I don’t have constant anxiety of whether he is going to wake up and “need” me. We also traveled shortly after his sleep training with Taylor ended, and I am happy to say that he was and champ-traveling did not phase him one bit. Taylor is so easy to work with. - Taylor customized a plan for naps and bedtime for our 4 month old. He went from sleeping beside my bed in a pack n play and having to be rocked to sleep every night, to sleeping at night and all naps in his crib, by putting himself to sleep each time. It took a lot of patience and changing the schedule to fit my son best, but I cannot thank Taylor enough for her help and consistency.
I would recommend Taylor to anybody who thinks they have a difficult baby! I was a skeptic before starting this, I thought my baby would never sleep, but within a week of sleep training he was sleeping 12 straight hours through the night. He is a much more pleasant toddler now that he’s getting his sleep and I’m a much happier mom now that I’m getting some time for myself again. I really wish I would have done this sooner!
Taylor Walters and her sleep consulting have changed our lives tremendously! Before contacting Taylor, my husband and I went back on forth if we really believed it would work and if it was worth it. Our son is so stubborn and was very set in his ways in regards to his poor sleeping habits. We knew that it was going to be very difficult breaking him of his habits and ours. Honestly, Taylor made the whole process smooth and not nearly as stressful as we thought it might be.After night two, my husband and I totally believed this program could work AND IT DID!!! My son went from sleeping, maybe, three hours straight, waking 5-6 times a night AND having my husband sleep with him all night long to sleeping 7:30-7:30 on his own with no wakings. Believe me, if you trust in Taylor and are willing to change your lives for the better, you will be amazed at what your child can do!! I cannot recommend Taylor & her expertise enough! I considered myself an experienced Mom, having already had 2 children but baby 3 proved to be a real challenge. At 4 months old, we were trying to do all the "right" things but still he was still waking multiple times a night. We were absolutely exhausted! After working with Taylor, our son went from waking up every 2-3 hours, to sleeping 8 hours the 2nd night then 12 hours the 3rd night! No nursing him back to sleep, no fighting for naps during the day. And if he did wake up at night, he got himself back to sleep because of the techniques Taylor taught us! I have to admit that at first I was skeptical because I never had to do this with my previous babies, but I am completely sold after working with her. I had tried to do this myself, but the advice, confidence, guidance and reassurance that Taylor provided during our sleep training was exactly what I needed. Sleep is so important for children! It is a big part of a healthy life style. Training babies to sleep well will be an investment that will reap rewards now and later in life. Good sleep habits promote better learning, brain development, growth and emotional/mental well being.
Can you lay your 9 week old in their bassinet/crib wide awake and wiggling to 5 minutes later in deep sleep without having to rock them, give them a binkie, or hold them until they fall asleep and pray when you lay them down they don’t wake up? Well 3 weeks ago, I would have answered no. We were on the verge of having another kid in our bed and up every 2 hours. We were miserable and not sleeping. We didn’t feel like husband and wife, but mom and dad. We made the choice to hire Taylor as our sleep consultant, and it was the best thing we could have ever done! By the 2nd night Teddy was sleeping a 5 hour stretch and a 3 1/2 hour stretch. We now have an hour or so every night to just be husband & wife while our kids sleep soundly in their own beds. The tips and tricks of the individual sleep plan that Taylor provided were spot on. She provided time and answered all of my silly worried mom questions. Ever want your toddler to sleep in THEIR OWN BED??? I did too and now he does lol. (So... bad commercial over.) Taylor has been a phenomenal consultant. My toddler who slept with my wife and I for two years has not been back to our bedroom yet. We have tried the cry it out method and he screamed to the point of heart break so we broke. My name is Taylor Walters and I am the proud mother of two beautiful little boys. After having our first, we went through all the “normal” phases that new parents go through... including the endless months of sleep deprivation! This had a huge effect on my job as Director of Human Resources for our local franchise, my relationships including my marriage, and my general daily life. When baby number two was on the way before our first turned one, my husband and I knew we needed to find some sleep solutions.
